Tony brings 45+ years of experience in commercial finance, SBA underwriting, and small business advisory. He has spent his career on both sides of the lending table, as a business owner who built and took a restaurant group public, and as the underwriter who decided which businesses got funded. That combination is rare, and it’s exactly what PG Strategic clients get access to.
As an SBA underwriter, Tony recorded the lowest loan default rate in the country, while simultaneously approving borrowers that others passed on due to credit scores alone. His approach was never just about the numbers. It was about understanding the business, the story behind the financials, and making a real credit decision. He built relationships with lenders across SBA, commercial real estate, and both retail and private banking that now directly benefit every client PG Strategic works with.
Before finance, Tony founded and led TAM Restaurant Group, taking ten New York City restaurants public in a small-cap IPO. The portfolio included iconic locations: The Boathouse in Central Park, American Park at Battery Park, Lundy’s in Sheepshead Bay, and Bundy’s in Times Square. That experience as an owner and operator gave Tony a ground-level understanding of what running a business actually looks like, the cash flow pressure, the daily decisions, the gap between a good idea and a funded one.
When he’s not working, Tony is an accomplished gourmet chef and takes great pride in his family, including children who have pursued careers in the military, law, and science.
